This course examines theological and philosophical discussions of beauty as found throughout the history of Christianity. Topics covered may include: beauty as a divine attribute; beauty as a transcendental property of being; philosophy of art; critiques of beauty in the modern period; and the contemporary theological movement known as "theological aesthetics".
