This course focuses on the broad theme of creativity in music and on the connections between hearing/listening to music and creating in music as it pertains to music education. Each of us has a unique set of experiences and each of us practices music making in unique ways and in particular places—schools, communities, studios, classrooms, ensembles, private lessons. Musical practices—all of them—matter. Context, or place (time-space-experience), matters in the creativity tool. Musical creativity can happen anywhere and anyone can be (or everyone is) creative.
