This course will examine mysticism and its meanings in various religious and spiritual traditions, focusing on Islam and Christianity. We look at both the philosophical and practical dimensions of mystical traditions, discussing questions about the nature of reality, God, the universe, and the human self, as well as contemplative practices and spiritual experiences.
