If this section of the class appears to have very few seats, it is because the rest of the seats in the classroom will be occupied by students on the “old core.”This section emphasizes the impact of cultures on one another in the growth of the Catholic community in today's United States. These world and theological views and their practical applications in the piety, politics, and everyday life of Catholics will be the primary focus. By summarizing significant events and characters in the history of the Catholic experience, the student will develop an understanding both of the different ethnic experiences and the theological concerns which created a pluralism among American Catholics that makes the Church of the United States truly catholic.
