Students will become more perceptive, educated listeners through the development of critical listening skills that will enable them to identify and understand various musical styles in the contexts of ethnic, religious, philosophical, economic, and gendered influences that shape musical traditions. This course fulfills the Fine Arts requirement in the core curriculum. This course fulfills the Writing To Learn requirement.
