AMSL 211 is the third course in a three-course sequence in ASL offered at the University of St. Thomas. This course is designed for students with substantial previous knowledge of American Sign Language. Students will build on basic grammatical skills and vocabulary through the study of intermediate ASL grammatical structures and the development of more in-depth sign vocabulary. This, in turn, will allow students to achieve intermediate productive and receptive signing skills. They will also further develop cultural knowledge and intercultural skills, cultivate the skills needed to interact with the Deaf community in the United States, and explore the study of American Sign Language and culture as an integral part of a liberal arts education.
